Brother Tallman Chosen for Tragos Quest to Greece

At this past weekend's Carlson Leadership Academy in Stamford, Connecticut, NY-Beta received several distinctions but none more prominent than the honor given to Brother Jacob Tallman to attend Tragos Quest to Greece. The opportunity is given to only 16 Brothers nationwide. Brother Tallman, the current Chapter President, was one of four SigEps selected from over 250 applicants in the Northeast region. At CLA SigEp noted Brother Tallman's commitment to the University--leading the College of Arts and Sciences Ambassadors program, as well as his commitment to the Fraternity through his position as Vice President of Programming where he formulated trips to send Brothers to help flood victims in Owego for several weekends this fall. The Grecian excursion, a 10 day trek starting June 14, 2012 and ending June 24th will push participants to their physical, mental and emotional limits. During the Quest, participants will discuss the Socratic method of teaching in the Agora where Socrates taught, compete in the original Olympic stadium, and study the ritual in Delphi after learning about the Mysteries of Eleusis. Brother Tallman spoke of his excitement for joining the 15 other SigEps for the trip, describing the opportunity as once in a lifetime. Brother Tallman truly embodies the attitude of the NY-Beta as we strive to build balanced men.
